What better way to spread a bit of Christmas cheer than through a conversation with Santa Claus himself? In this video I had the chance to sit down with a local Santa and ask him to share his experience playing the part and why he does it year after year.
From this conversation, we learned that playing Santa is much more than putting on—or growing—a beard and red clothing, it's about embodying the spirit of Christmas and spreading joy. Regardless of age, people respond to Santa Claus as the children they once were. Tough guys, like bikers and gang members, still react to a joyous Santa with a smile and twinkle in their eyes, according to this Santa Claus.
Along with the many heartwarming moments a Santa experiences, also come somber moments shared with people at the most vulnerable. To hear more about that, you will have to watch the video!
